Business Continuity

Overview

As an extension of Notre Dame’s emergency preparedness program, the business continuity effort is an integral part of the ND’s system of preparing to respond to an incident. The primary objective of the business continuity program is to restore critical operational functions that allow the University to accomplish its mission of education and research. By developing detailed recovery plans, departments and units identify processes and strategies that minimize the amount of time and expense required to resume operations following an unexpected disruption.

Requirements

Who needs a plan?
  • Departments and groups critical to restoring ND's mission after an incident will be informed of the requirement to have a business continuity plan. It is recommended that groups not identified in the "critical to operations" list create their own business continuity plans and maintain them within their own department.
Business Continuity Plan Template
  • Those requiring to have a business continuity plan are requested to utilize this template. All critical to operations business continuity plans and Notre Dame’s main business continuity plan can be accessed here.
