SPCC
Overview
The University of Notre Dame Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan sets forth requirements for the prevention of, preparedness for, and response to oil discharges. The goal of the SPCC plan is to prevent oil from reaching navigable waters and adjoining shorelines, and to contain discharges of oil.
Training Requirements
All oil-handling personnel shall be trained annually on the University of Notre Dame's SPCC plan. The SPCC plan training is available in complyND. Supervisors shall assign SPCC plan training to those who handle oil as follows:
- Land O'Lakes personnel shall be assigned the RMS LOL SPCC Training course.
- ND Campus personnel shall be assigned the RMS ND Campus SPCC Training course.
Inspection Forms
- Monthly Oil Tank Inspection Tag (158 kb, pdf) This inspection tag shall be completed monthly for all oil containers covered under the SPCC Plan. Inspection tags shall be kept for three years on-site.
Regulatory Information
Oil Pollution Prevention guidelines set forth in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 112 create a framework to help facilities prevent discharge of oil into navigable waters or adjoining shorelines.
