The University of Notre Dame Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan sets forth requirements for the prevention of, preparedness for, and response to oil discharges. The goal of the SPCC plan is to prevent oil from reaching navigable waters and adjoining shorelines, and to contain discharges of oil. 

Training Requirements

All oil-handling personnel shall be trained annually on the University of Notre Dame's SPCC plan. The SPCC plan training course is being built in complyND. Once the course is available it will be assigned to necessary personnel. Until then, training will be given by RMS staff.

Regulatory Information

Oil Pollution Prevention guidelines set forth in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 112 create a framework to help facilities prevent discharge of oil into navigable waters or adjoining shorelines.
