Heat and Cold Stress Prevention

Overview

The purpose of this program is to provide awareness of the potential for and the dangers associated with heat and cold illnesses. This program gives guidance in the recognition, evaluation and control of potential heat and cold related illnesses. This program applies to all personnel at the University of Notre Dame who may be exposed to heat and cold illnesses through working in temperature extremes.

Training Requirements

Notre Dame staff whose job descriptions require them to work in extreme hot or cold conditions receive training prior to working in such conditions. RMS – Heat Stress and RMS – Cold Stress Training are assigned through eNDeavor and are required annually.
