Risk Management and Safety has issued this notice regarding after-hours medical care for Notre Dame employees injured at work.

As of Sunday, Oct. 27, Medpoint24 no longer treats patients 24 hours a day.

Due to this change, injured employees and/or supervisors and managers should use the following options for after-hours medical care:

  • Minor injuries: Use the on-call feature provided by the University’s Wellness Center by calling 574-634-9355 and selecting the on-call provider option. This option can provide guidance on treatment for the injured employee.

  • Injuries requiring immediate/emergency care: The employee should go to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, the University’s emergency medical treatment facility. The hospital is located at 5215 Holy Cross Parkway in Mishawaka off Douglas Road east of Main Street.

If the Wellness Center is open, an employee who is injured at work should seek medical treatment there first. (View for the Wellness Center’s hours.)

Anyone with questions regarding these procedures or other worker’s compensation matters may contact Carla Gruse, systems program manager in Risk Management and Safety, at gruse.1@nd.edu or 574-631-7532.
